Case Study: 18th Birthday Party
Chaddlewood Farm Community Centre
The birthday sign.
The Brief:
My first birthday party shoot, an 18th for Lola Grace and her guests at the Chaddlewood Farm Country Club. With around 60 guests, it was dancefloor energy with the intimacy of a private party, creating the perfect scene for me to capture my work of candid and celebratory moments.

The Challenge:
Shooting in a private party environment meant constantly working against low and changing light conditions. Throughout the night I would be constantly checking camera settings on the fly. I had an on camera flash aimed at the ceiling which gave me the best, most consistent results. Shooting in RAW gave me much more editing room to play with.
Shot taken without flash.
The Approach:
My approach was the same as any other shoot, capture the story and real emotion of the event. The client gave me full control and let me do my thing. Which took a lot of pressure off my shoulders.
The Result:
A full gallery of images the client and her family can treasure for years to come. Several shots from the evening stand out as personal highlights, showcasing what's possible even in challenging lighting conditions. More images here.

Client Feedback:
