AI will never take over creatives.
AI can generate images in seconds. Thousands of them. Perfectly exposed. Perfectly styled. Perfectly forgettable.
Don’t get me wrong I've been using photoshop and editing photos for a while now, which is essentially ‘AI’.
Light painting sculpture using a variety of steps and techniques.
AI excels at speed and efficiency. It predicts what an image ‘should’ look like based on what already exists. Photography, real photography, works differently.
It asks:
Where should the light fall?
What deserves to be seen first?
What should remain hidden?
When is the image finished, not just complete?
These decisions aren’t technical. They’re human. They come from my experience, my eye, the mood i am in that day. AI cannot and never will be able to recreate that. AI images often look impressive at first glance….. But they rarely hold attention.
Once you look close enough 9/10 you can tell something is off.
I can absolutely see why people use AI for there images and so on. But for real creatives. The whole journey from pages of shitty sketches we’ll never look at again, to putting the final unsharp mask layer on.
The process from start to finish is what makes the image special.
Being great at writing prompts for AI isn’t much of skill. And not only that businesses that use AI are being roasted online. Just look at the top brands who have used it and the reaction it got.
